Knotwords are a hybrid of the humble crossword and the Celtic knot. Invented by Murray Heasman, these unique puzzles first saw the light of day when the original Celtic Crossword was published in 2000. Now completely sold out, and sought worldwide, it has now been totally updated and given an added twist - the knotigram. Click here to find an online example. Answers run end to end around the continuous Celtic knot grid; the last letter of one answer is the first letter of the next. Once you've completed each knotword, find the knotigram by writing out the letters in the highlighted cells each time you cross them, starting from No. 1. The message will magically appear. There are also two knotwords designed for children - King Crag and Craggy Castle. The size of each poster is A2 (42cm x 60cm) and folded to A4 (21cm x 30cm). They are available directly from us or through various book and gift shops. We've also been regularly supplying smaller knotwords to newspapers and magazines. If you're interested for your own publication, please drop us a line. We've had to design the knotword section of this site to use Macromedia Flash 6 or later. If you can see the image below (You've got Flash Player 6) you're okay.
If you don't have Flash 6 (or you have an older version) you'll need to download the latest version from the Macromedia website. It's FREE and it's very quick and easy to download.
