Manoeuvres: Build as few ringforts as possible to proceed to the Battle faster.

Battle: Split the board up with one large kingdom/knot so that your opponent is restricted to smaller confined areas.

Battle: Leave any unwanted single ringforts alone; they will be captured.

Battle: If you're planning to win with more territory (the number of kingdoms must be the same), towards the end of the game leave lots of besieged hills. If your opponent cannot build adjacent to their own kingdoms (you've blocked them off) they will have to build on these already besieged hills. Each time they are built upon you'll have to capture them immediately, adding to your territory differential.
